| Description |
This is supervisory work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the city's streets, alleys, bridges, and culverts. The position is responsible for overseeing snow and ice removal operations and the maintenance of trees adjacent to city streets. Responsible for the supervision of 18 employees within the department.
Work involves responsibility for assigning, supervising, and inspecting the work of variety of crews engaged in the performance of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of streets, alleys, bridges, and culverts. The employee exercises considerable independent judgment in assigning and reviewing departmental projects. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and inspections of completed work for results obtained. Reports directly to the City Engineer. |

| Requirements |
| Considerable experience in construction and with the operation of heavy equipment, demonstrating increasing responsibility in those positions is required. Should hold or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License. Must be able to qualify for State of Nebraska certification as a City Street Superintendent within the first six months of employment. Must have considerable understanding of the methods, tools, and equipment used in street construction and maintenance. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required. |
